Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Wellspring.

Everything you need to know about person-level intent data, pricing, integrations, and how Wellspring fits into your sales and marketing stack.

What is Wellspring? +

Wellspring is a person-level behavioral intent data platform. It identifies individuals actively researching products and services across the open web. Unlike account-level intent tools that only tell you a company is interested, Wellspring resolves browsing activity to named people with full contact information including name, email, phone number, and mailing address. Data is delivered as fresh prospect audiences or CRM enrichment signals.

Why is it called Wellspring? +

A wellspring is a natural source. Water already moving underground, surfacing where it can be used. That is exactly what the platform does with buying intent. The interest is already out there. People are already researching. Wellspring surfaces that activity and delivers it where you can act on it.

The same metaphor runs through delivery cadence. A ripple is the entry pace. A steady flow is regular cadence. A surge is full force.

What does behavioral intent mean? +

Behavioral intent is a signal that a person is actively researching for something, based on what they do online rather than who they are on paper. A person looking at roofing contractor reviews, comparing quotes, and reading about shingle types over several days is showing behavioral intent to hire a roofer.

Demographics and firmographics tell you who someone is. Behavioral intent tells you what they are about to buy.

How does Wellspring differ from other intent data providers? +

Most intent data providers deliver account-level signals. They tell you a company showed interest, but not which person. Wellspring resolves intent to the individual across both B2B and B2C. 304 million US profiles, 50,000+ topics, and a 24-hour signal-to-delivery window. Audiences refresh daily, not monthly or quarterly.

When you upload a Wellspring audience to an ad platform like Google or Meta as a custom audience, 85 to 100% of those contacts match against the platform's user base. The industry benchmark for comparable audience uploads is 40 to 60%. Higher match rates mean more of your budget reaches real people instead of getting wasted on unresolved records that the platform cannot target.

How is Wellspring different from ZoomInfo or 6sense? +

ZoomInfo and 6sense are account-level B2B platforms. They tell you a company is in-market, then let you search for contacts at that company. Wellspring starts with the person. If someone at a company is actively researching, Wellspring surfaces that specific individual with their contact information. No searching the org chart to guess who the real buyer is.

Wellspring also works for B2C, where account-level signals do not apply. A homeowner researching a new roof is a person, not an account.

How does Wellspring data improve ad campaign performance? +

Most paid ad campaigns target broad audiences based on demographics or interests. Wellspring gives you a custom audience of people who are already actively researching what you sell. That changes the economics. Instead of paying to reach a thousand people and hoping ten of them care, you are reaching people who are already in the market. Cost per lead drops because the audience is pre-qualified by behavior, not just demographics.

The data works across all 12 supported ad platforms. Upload the list as a custom audience, build a lookalike from it, or suppress existing customers to avoid wasting spend. Depending on the vertical and keyword competition, Wellspring custom audiences can reduce cost per lead by 40% or more compared to broad targeting.

What industries does Wellspring serve? +

Wellspring serves both B2B and B2C. Home services companies use it to reach homeowners before they call a competitor. Personal injury firms use it to cut cost per lead. Insurance, mortgage, and financial services companies use it to find people actively researching coverage or rates. Marketing agencies deploy it across their entire client base. B2B SaaS companies use it to identify the individuals behind buying committee activity.

How much does Wellspring cost? +

Pricing is custom and quoted per engagement. There are no public tiers or rate card. We scope your data volume, delivery cadence, and integration needs, then quote a single flat monthly rate for exactly what you use, with no surprise overages. Contact us for a quote.

What ad platforms does Wellspring integrate with? +

Twelve platforms. Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, Microsoft Ads, Snapchat, Pinterest, Spotify, Criteo, and Amazon DSP. All work with email-based matching. All included at no additional cost on every engagement.

What CRM platforms does Wellspring work with? +

Any platform that accepts a CSV import or API-based contact ingestion. CRMs like HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, and GoHighLevel. Marketing platforms like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and ActiveCampaign. E-commerce platforms like Shopify and BigCommerce. Wellspring pushes data via secure API. CRM Undercurrent signals refresh weekly.

What is a custom current? +

A custom current tracks intent signals for something specific to your business. Your brand name, a competitor, a product line, a niche service term your industry cares about. One-time setup. Once active, it flows permanently across all 304M+ profiles. New currents take 2 to 4 weeks to start surfacing. Additional custom currents are scoped and quoted as part of your engagement.

How does CRM Undercurrent work? +

Wellspring matches your existing contacts against its 304M+ profile directory and pushes off-site intent signals into your CRM. Your customers are browsing competitors? You will know. A dormant contact just re-entered the market? You will know that too. A homeowner researching roof repair is also looking at gutter installation? That is a second opportunity your CRM would never surface on its own. Delivered via secure API on a SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliant channel. Weekly refresh. Works with any CRM.

What data does Wellspring deliver for each prospect? +

Full contact profiles. First name, last name, email, phone number, mailing address. Every record includes the topic category the person is actively researching, a behavioral signal strength score, and whether the activity is B2B or B2C. All data resolves at the individual person level. Not the company. Not the household. The person.

How fresh is the data? +

Signals move from detection to delivery within 24 hours. When a person goes in-market today, they surface in tomorrow's pull. No month-old leads. No recycled audiences. Headwater run on your chosen cadence (daily, weekly, or biweekly), and CRM Undercurrent refreshes weekly.

Where does the data come from? +

Wellspring sources behavioral intent signals from a network of data partnerships across the open web. The network continuously expands, and all signals resolve against our proprietary 304M+ person directory, so customers benefit from growing coverage and signal depth throughout their contract.

Wellspring does not collect data from your website or systems. Signals come from the open web, not from you.

Does Wellspring collect data from my website or use my customer data? +

No. Wellspring does not place pixels, cookies, or tracking scripts on your website. No website data is ever collected by Wellspring.

For CRM Undercurrent, customer records you share are used only to match against the Wellspring directory and return signals back to you. Your customer data is never pooled, sold, or shared with other customers.

How does Wellspring handle data privacy and compliance? +

Wellspring operates in compliance with applicable US state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and its amendments under CPRA. The platform is built on infrastructure from AWS and MindCloud, both of which maintain SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 attestations.

California and other eligible residents have the right to know what personal information we hold, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, visit the Your Privacy Choices page.

How can a consumer opt out of Wellspring? +

Consumers can submit an opt-out, deletion, correction, or access request at wellspring.stream/privacy-choices. Requests are verified via email confirmation, processed within 45 days, and honored going forward across all future list deliveries.

What happens if a contact opts out after I have already received them? +

Wellspring maintains a suppression list that updates continuously. Once a person opts out, they are removed from all future Wellspring deliveries across all customers. Wellspring cannot retract records already delivered, but customers are contractually required to honor suppression updates and remove opted-out contacts from their future outreach.

Is Wellspring available outside the United States? +

Wellspring operates in the United States only. The platform does not serve EU residents and is not configured for GDPR compliance. International expansion is not on the near-term roadmap.
